"PERFORMANCES ARE SUPERB...An Astonishing Tragic-Comic Tour De Force." - THE NEW YORK TIMES
Rebecca is a calm, unflappable anchorwoman on the evening news, in Madrid. She is married to a highflying TV executive, but behind this glamorous lifestyle Rebecca still longs for her mother who abandoned her to persue a singing career. As fate would have it Rebecca's mother returns to Madrid for a concert and by chance the two meet at the airport.
The first time in fifteen years, despite the awkwardness of the moment, Rebecca introduces herself and invites her mother for dinner. Rebecca feels that it would be a good time to show her mother that, despite her absence, she has been able to maintain a healthy life.
However can it be seen as normal to be married to one of your mother's ex-lovers and to substitute her absence with visits to a bar where transvestite singers do covers of her mothers songs. Rebecca's life soon turns upside down, she begins to have an intimate relationship with Femme Letal, a transvestite impersonator. She is also thrown into jail when her husband is found shot dead. But then life is always murder when you wear high heels, be you man or woman.
